Music for Children

We are a relaxed, friendly, flexible three/four part choir, who sing on Sunday mornings at St Luke’s, as well as during our inspirational beautiful Christmas services.

We ask that the juniors are at least 7 years old, but other than that there is no audition to join, just an enjoyment of singing and the commitment that you attend as regularly as possible.

Children can join in with music theory and vocal coaching sessions to earn recognised Royal Schools of Church Music medals and also have the opportunity to sing solos or as small groups. We sing a wide variety of music, leading hymns and psalms and singing varied anthems. We are always keen to welcome new members.

At St Luke’s, most Sundays our music is led by the choir and organist, sometimes being accompanied by other musicians. On the second Sunday of each month at St Luke’s, guitars replace the organ as our band lead us using more contemporary music. Children are very welcome to “make a joyful noise” with percussion instruments
