Our parish garden is really showing the results of all the hard work that volunteers have put in over the last few months. It can be a haven of peace or a hive of activity, depending on what’s going on, and it’s becoming more and more popular as the days lengthen and the warm weather arrives.

Over half term we held a pizza-making session for children and used oregano and basil from the garden to season our delicious pizzas. It’s fantastic for children to make the connection between the plants we grow and the food we eat and we all had a great time and full tummies by the end of the session.

The garden is now open on Wednesday after school between 3.00pm and 4.30pm for everyone to come along and getting digging, weeding, planting or just taking in the beautiful scene. On Saturdays it’s open between 10.30am and Midday.

If you’d like to get involved as a volunteer contact Naomi, our fantastic garden co-ordinator  on [email protected]. It’s a great way to support the Redlands Parish Community and get out in the fresh air and (hopefully) sunshine!
